How You Can Help

Recreational Activities at Woods

Donate Today

To help its clients lead full and more rewarding lives, Woods offers an array of social activities that provide valuable learning experiences, opportunities for interaction, and a way to build self-esteem.

Recreational activities are typically not covered by traditional reimbursement mechanisms, yet they are an important component of a continuum of care that enhances their experience. Over the years, private contributions have enabled Woods to provide
a variety of recreational activities both on and off its campus.

Examples of what a gift from you could do -

  • $50 would make it possible to attend a fitness class with a personal trainer who visits Woods’ clients regularly.
  • $100 would purchase tickets to the Philadelphia Zoo for four children.
  • $150 would provide tickets to a sporting event for five young boys.
  • $250 would support five visits by Casey the dog and other pet therapists to people with traumatic brain injury.

  • $500 would support three sessions with an artist who works with clients on hands-on arts and crafts projects.

The more gifts Woods receives, the more activities people with special needs can continue to enjoy.

If you would like to help, you may make your gift online. Go to the Donation Form and, in the “How do you wish your gift to be used ” field, select "Recreation" from the drop down menu.
