My Day at Disney

June 1st, 2012

My day in Disney World with Sunshine Foundation’s Dreamlift 2012
By Tiffany Snyder

If you would have told me when I arrived at Woods Services about a year ago that I would be going on my first airplane ride and spending the day in Disney World, Magic Kingdom; I would have told you were crazy. However that’s actually what happen to me on May, 8, 2012, I got to go on my first ever airplane ride and spent the day at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World Florida with my Program Specialist.

The day started at 3:00 am.  I was excited but couldn’t believe that I was going on an airplane along with spending the day in Disney World. At 5:00 am my Program Specialist and I left for the Mercer County Airport in Trenton where we spent the next couple of hours going through security screens to be able to get on the airplane. I was getting excited for the day to get started. Finally after what felt like forever, we finally boarded the plane.  Ms. Suzanne (my program specialist) let me have the window seat and kept me laughing to ease my mind about the take- off. When we were in the air, I met a lot of people from all over the state of New Jersey as well as some people from the Sunshine Foundation Organization.  I was honored in being chosen for this trip and I kept asking Ms. Suzanne when we would be there.

We landed in Florida and again after what felt like forever, we finally got to the Magic Kingdom. That is where Ms. Suzanne and I met up with a volunteer from the Sunshine Foundation in Florida. Kathleen was around my age and it was fun to be with her since she went on the Rollercoaster that Ms. Suzanne would not. Kathleen told me that she comes to Disney every weekend. I told her that I was jealous of her and I also got to meet her family.

I got to meet the Fairies from Adventure Land and had my picture taken with Kathleen and Ms. Suzanne in front of the Castle. I even got to ride Space Mountain; it was fun and scary at the same time. As the day was coming to the end, I thanked and said goodbye to Kathleen. As I watched “Let’s Celebrate Parade,” I told Ms. Suzanne that it was a great day and I wished I could stay longer. When we’re back on the plane and heading home Ms. Suzanne asked what I would tell my friends about my day when I got back to school. I laughed and said I would tell them it was my best day since I came to Woods Services.
