Woods is committed to the advancement of knowledge in the field of assistive technology. Staff has made an important contribution to the development of professionals who want to better serve people with disabilities. They have been active in educating university students for several years, and have done a great deal to promote research and development in the field.
Because the field of assistive technology is advancing rapidly, professionals must keep abreast of new technology and its application. To address this need, Woods recently teamed up with Thomas Jefferson University to co-sponsor two symposiums. The purpose of these symposia was to share information about assistive technology services and resources available to people with disabilities and the professionals who work with them.
The Squier Assistive Technology Center is an important part of the unique continuum of care Woods provides for its clients, offering them state of the art devices that enable them to reach new levels of independence and personal achievement.
