Vocational Opportunities

photoWoods offers a continuum of day services for adults, including vocational training and employment services tailored to the individual’s need for work readiness, employment in structured or sheltered settings, or a job in the community.

Every day at Woods, residents participate in a variety of vocational training opportunities. Whether working on campus as part of a team assembling packages for local businesses, creating floral arrangements in the campus flower shop or holding down a job in the community, we give our clients a working foundation to facilitate future employment possibilities.

Supports are provided by vocational employment counselors and instructors who work with each client on an individual basis. Some workers, supported by job coaches, are employed at local businesses. Sheltered workshops on the Woods and Brian’s House campuses offer other clients employment, skills training and the opportunity to earn an income -

  • The Woods Enterprises (TWE)
TWE works to enhance the independence of some of our adult clients by helping them gain job skills and employment. TWE provides local businesses with quality employment placement and subcontracting services which, in turn, allows our residents to develop many different skills and abilities.

  • Brian’s House Enterprises
Located in Downingtown, PA, this program provides a full range of vocational services for adults with mental and physical disabilities.

Holland Enrichment Center

We also provide an enrichment program for adults who find it more difficult to work due to severe mental or physical disabilities. At the Holland Enrichment Center, instructors help these individuals develop vital life skills that will enable them to function more independently and interact more fully with the world around them.

Holland also offers a Seniors Program for clients who have reached retirement age. The program provides opportunities to share in a variety of activities each day, ranging from arts and crafts, to self-help skills, to exercise. Our seniors also enjoy free time when they play cards, tend to their plants, listen to music or get into lively conversations with their friends.
