Woods 12-month special education program, treatments and therapies for Autistic students ages 5-21, is designed to provide students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (such as Asperger’s Syndrome) with individualized programming that increases their communication, social and academic skills. Additionally, the specialized education program meets their emotional, behavioral, speech therapy and medical needs, while bringing them closer to achieving their own personal goals and living their lives to the fullest. The overall goal of our individualized autism education program is to help students successfully transition back to their home school district.
Our private Autism school’s education curriculum provides students with life skills instruction, vocational preparedness, elementary to high school-level academics, pre-vocational and vocational programming. Elective classes include adapted physical education, art and music. Education students go on field trips, attend special events and have the opportunity to volunteer in our local community.
