Our Special Education Programs
Woods offers a 12-month Special Education Program for South East PA students ages 5-21 years with a current Individual Education Plan. Our comprehensive individualized programs are designed to help special education students successfully transition back into their home school districts.
Our Approved Private Special Education School
Woods is a licensed Approved Private School, focused on special education for exceptional children. Woods’ is currently accepting students for 12-Month, Extended School Year and 45-Day Emergency Placements.
We offer stimulating, small class sizes that allow for personalized teaching strategies for self-contained or departmentalized instruction. For older students, academic high school curriculum or pre-vocational/vocational training and/or functional academic/life skills are integrated into the school day.

Teachers and Staffing
Our certified special education teachers are engaging and supported with a range of related service supports. Elective classes include adapted physical education, music, and art. Wood employs Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapists, Psychologists, Nurses, and other professionals to meet the educational, emotional, and medical needs of our students.

Transition Planning
Woods provides work-based learning opportunities both on campus and in the community with instruction, coaching, and hands-on skill development. Students also learn job search and interview strategies, personal banking and budgeting, community interaction, and the social skills needed to succeed.
